Ruby Thornley-Tso
Founder & Owner
Legacy Director
Révérence Ballet Ensemble Director
Ballet • Jazz • Contemporary • Hip-Hop • Tap
Ruby is the founder and owner of The Converge Dance Academy. She began dancing at the Academy of Ballet at the age of five and later continued her training at Pioneer High School for the Performing Arts. There, she studied under renowned artists including Derryl Yeager-Artistic Director of Odyssey Dance Theatre-Caleb Chapman, Mindy Smoot, Kimberly Melon, and many other accomplished instructors. Through this diverse education, Ruby developed a strong foundation in ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and tap.
With nearly a decade of teaching experience working with dancers ages 3 through adulthood, Ruby is passionate about creating an environment where every dancer feels challenged, supported, and inspired. She believes that learning never stops and encourages dancers to remain open to new perspectives, techniques, and experiences. By emphasizing both technical excellence and the history and culture behind each dance style, she helps students become not only stronger dancers but more thoughtful artists.
Ruby founded The Converge Dance Academy with a vision of bringing the comprehensive performing arts school model into a studio setting. She believes dancers thrive when they receive well-rounded, multidisciplinary training in an inclusive, non-competitive environment where creativity, discipline, and individuality are equally valued. Through The Converge, her goal is to provide accessible, high-quality dance education that empowers every dancer to discover their place, their potential, and their flow.

Evey (they/them) began dancing at the age of five and quickly fell in love with performing. Based in Utah, they have trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theatre, developing a deep appreciation for the many ways movement can tell a story.

Since beginning their teaching journey in 2022, Evey has enjoyed sharing their love of ballet, jazz, and contemporary with dancers of all ages. They believe dance is a fundamental part of being human—connecting the mind, body, and spirit in extraordinary ways—and strive to create an encouraging environment where every student can grow with confidence and curiosity.

Evey has performed with Jolie Arts Dance Center, Serena Webb Dance Theatre, and Allium Movers, and is thrilled to be part of The Converge Dance Academy. Outside of the studio, they enjoy watching movies, reading, making crafts, and spending time cuddling their cat.

Sydni Jones
The Collective Director
Jazz • Contemporary
Sydni has been dancing for over 20 years, teaching for 9 years, and serving as an artistic company director for 5 years. At the age of 8, she began training in musical theatre, performing alongside her parents. After making her middle school dance team, she expanded her training in jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and modern dance, working hard to keep up with her teammates and discovering a passion for versatility.
That dedication paid off when Sydni earned a place on the Silhouette Drill Team in high school, where she continued to develop her jazz and contemporary technique. During her time on the team, the Silhouettes won back-to-back Region Championships and placed in the Top 5 at the Utah 5A State Championships each year.
Sydni continued her education at Snow College, where she remained active in both dance and theatre while adding ballroom and choreography to her repertoire. She served as President of the Ballroom Company and was hired as an in-house choreographer for both the Ballroom Company and Dance Ensemble. She holds associate degrees in Theatre with a Musical Theatre emphasis and a minor in Dance with a Ballroom emphasis.
With her background in theatre, Sydni places a strong emphasis on performance quality and storytelling in her classes. She believes that artistry and technique go hand in hand, helping dancers become both expressive performers and strong technicians. Above all, Sydni believes dance is for everyone, regardless of age or body type, and strives to create a welcoming environment where every student can grow, feel confident, and enjoy the art of dance.
